Meat Trim Line Sorter (Cut Line)

Hours:             M -F, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Saturdays for business needs

Starting pay rate: $18.36 – $19.89 per hour

Objective

We are seeking a person to work with sorting beef and/ or bison on our meat trim line

Essential Functions

  • Sorting trim for appropriate percentages of lean
  • Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures
  • Operating a computer
  • The ability to run a pallet jack
  • The ability to learn and follow our processes
  • The ability to listen and follow directions
  • A good attitude towards continuous improvements of food safety systems
  • The ability to follow general food safety practices (GMP’s, HACCP, SQF system)
  • Maintain a safe environment for personal safety

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) is preferred

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and understand instructions.  Possess good eye-hand coordination and dexterity.  This position is very active and requires standing (7+ hours), walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. They use their hands and arms constantly.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, 40-degree temperature, and wet floor.  The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
