Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Hours:                         M -F, 9:00 am–5:30 pm

Saturdays for business needs

Starting pay rate:       $19.90/ hour

Summary:

Receive, verify deliveries, and prepare orders for shipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Product is delivered, inspect vehicle and product condition, verify BOL, and scan into inventory system
  • The team works with production to coordinate thawing and product availability
  • When ready for shipping, accurate order picking, verifying traceability and precise accounting are the key tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivating
  • Communicate BOL of incoming and shipped materials with product owner
  • Coordinate trucking
  • Able to work both independently and as a team
  • Good with numbers, especially accurate counting
  • Able to use a computer on a basic level
  • Willing to be certified in operating a forklift and other equipment
  • Other tasks, including organization, inventory, and sanitation
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • The desire and ability to follow general food safety practices (GMPs, HACCP, and SQF system)

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish or Karen) is preferred

Education and Experience:

  • No formal education is required
  • Prior related production experience preferred

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and understand instructions.  This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.  Employee is able to work in varying temperatures, from zero to 40 degrees.  The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
